Most executives are trained to run things. Very few are trained to be accountable for them.
That distinction doesn’t matter much when things are calm. It matters a lot when something breaks: a data breach, a failed acquisition, a regulatory investigation, a shareholder revolt.
At that point, the question is no longer “Did you manage well?”, but rather, “Did you govern properly?”.
The Executive Governance Readiness Programme is designed for senior leaders who are stepping into board-level exposure—whether as executives reporting to boards, prescribed officers, future directors, or members of governing bodies themselves.
The programme focuses on the practical mechanics of governance:
- Where authority actually sits
- How boards make valid decisions
- What oversight really means
- Where personal liability begins
- How governance protects you when it works and exposes you when it doesn’t
We examine governance architecture across law, King IV / V and ISO standards, but always through one lens: how this affects your decisions in real situations.
Participants work through applied executive scenarios involving risk escalation, technology oversight, misconduct, ESG exposure and high-stakes judgment calls. The goal is composure under pressure.
By the end of the programme, leaders understand:
- The difference between managing and governing
- How to rely on governance structures without hiding behind them
- How to ask better questions at board level
- How to recognise exposure early
- How to operate credibly when accountability is collective but liability is personal
This is not compliance training. It’s preparation for the moment when the boardroom stops being procedural and becomes consequential.
